A very attractive vintage Rolex Submariner reference 5513, dating to 1967 (serial 1978XXX), featuring the desirable “meters first” dial configuration. The case appears to be unpolished and remains in excellent overall condition, showing honest wear from use while retaining strong proportions. The reference and serial numbers between the lugs are crisp and well defined, and the caseback is correctly stamped 5513 and IV.67. The original “Long 5” bezel insert is in very good condition for its age, with a small mark visible between 40 and 45. The watch retains its original plexiglass crystal, adding to the overall vintage charm. The meters-first dial is in very good condition overall and displays a light eggshell patina on the tritium indexes. There is a small presence of oil visible on the lower part of the dial, though it is difficult to notice with the naked eye. The hands are matching and complement the dial nicely. The watch is powered by the Rolex caliber 1520, which has recently been serviced by our watchmaker and is running well. It retains its original crown. It comes fitted on a riveted Oyster bracelet reference 7206 with 80 endlinks, showing light stretch consistent with use. The clasp is stamped 3.69. A very honest and appealing vintage Submariner, featuring an attractive patinated dial and strong original components, making it a great example of this iconic reference.
