An iconic and instantly recognizable creation within the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak lineage, “The Beast” remains one of the most influential sports watches of the modern era. Introduced in 1993 as the first Royal Oak Offshore, it defined a bold new aesthetic vocabulary—architectural, oversized, and radically forward-looking. This example, produced in 2001 according to its serial number, is a superb and exceptionally well-preserved representative of the reference. The watch retains its original blue dial, with perfectly preserved luminova on both the hour markers and matching hands. The case and bezel remain impressively sharp, showing minimal signs of wear and underscoring the careful use the watch has seen over the years. Offered as a complete full set, it includes its original Guarantee, unstamped and undated, as delivered by the authorised retailer at the time, as well as the movement booklet—an ensemble that has become increasingly rare for early Offshore examples. The watch benefited from a complete service in 2018 at an AP-authorised service centre in Italy, and its current condition attests to very light wear since.
