In the early 1990s, Daniel Roth set out to create his own interpretation of a perpetual calendar wristwatch — one that balanced mechanical sophistication with classical restraint. Based on the caliber GP 3000, this rare white gold example features dual apertures for the day and month, implementing a “semi-instantaneous” perpetual calendar that pre-dates Roth’s later fully instantaneous design. Numbered 28, and part of the early production run of Daniel Roth’s independent creations, this timepiece is preserved in spectacular, unpolished condition, appearing virtually unworn. The grey ruthenium-finished dial with vertical guilloché is beautifully executed, complemented by a brushed hour and date ring that adds subtle depth and refinement. The symmetrical layout — with day and month apertures fanning above the central date — ensures clarity and perfect balance. The blued steel hands and gold moon phase disc add a discreet yet elegant contrast to the monochrome palette. Encased in the signature double-ellipse 18K white gold case, this watch captures the essence of Daniel Roth’s design language — architectural, precise, and timeless. It is fitted with its original white gold Daniel Roth ardillon buckle. A historically important and beautifully preserved example from one of the great independent watchmakers of the modern era — an understated yet masterful expression of 1990s haute horlogerie.
