An exceptional example of the legendary Rolex Milgauss reference 1019, featuring the rare and highly desirable black matte dial. The stainless steel case has been polished in the past but remains thick and symmetrical, preserving strong lines and proportions. The black matte dial is superb, with no visible flaws, featuring vivid red “Milgauss” text and lightly oxidized metal hour markers. All tritium luminous plots are intact, and the original flat hands match perfectly. The smooth bezel is correctly flat and well preserved. The serial and reference numbers between the lugs are lightly worn but fully legible. The caseback is stamped II.70. Fitted with al riveted 7202 bracelet with 80 endlinks, in excellent condition with minimal stretch. The clasp is stamped 1.66. The movement has been fully checked by our watchmaker and is running perfectly. This example comes with a Rolex service card dated 1970, adding a notable element of period documentation. A very attractive and honest example of the Milgauss 1019 — one of Rolex’s most historically important tool watches, offered here in excellent overall condition with a beautiful original black dial.
