Originally produced in 2001, the watch was used as a presentation watch for a Patek Philippe employee, reflecting the tradition within the manufacture of awarding timepieces to long-serving staff members. Upon the employee’s retirement in 2020, the watch was returned to Patek Philippe where it underwent a full service and polishing before being formally offered to the employee as a retirement gift. At the employee’s request, a mother-of-pearl dial was installed during this intervention, giving the watch a refined and elegant new aesthetic. Since then, the watch has been worn regularly for approximately three years and is now preserved in very good overall condition, showing some light surface scratches consistent with daily wear. The mother-of-pearl dial remains beautiful and vibrant, offering subtle iridescent reflections that enhance the timeless elegance of the Golden Ellipse design. The watch is powered by a quartz movement, ensuring reliability and practicality for everyday use. It is fitted with a black crocodile leather strap in excellent condition, completing the watch’s classic and refined presentation.
