Rolex GMT-Master 16753 “Root Beer” Two-Tone, Box and Papers — Produced in 1981, Sold in 1986 (Serial 939XXXX). A superb and exceptionally well-preserved example of the iconic two-tone GMT-Master 16753 “Root Beer.” The case is magnificent, appearing very lightly polished if ever, with sharp and well-defined chamfers and perfect symmetry. It shows only minimal wear and no deep marks. The yellow gold bezel is in excellent condition, and the original brown “root beer” insert is immaculate. The original brown sunburst tritium dial is flawless, with no blemishes or aging spots, and the luminous plots have aged beautifully to a warm tone. The hands match nicely, showing slight oxidation typical for watches of this era, with minor cracking visible on the tritium of the GMT hand. Fitted with its original 78363 two-tone Oyster bracelet with 480 endlinks, claspcode G, showing only minimal stretch and a pleasing oxidation on the gold center links. The serial and reference numbers between the lugs are perfectly crisp and fully legible. The watch has just been serviced by our watchmaker and is running perfectly. Complete with its original box and papers. An absolutely outstanding example of the vintage GMT-Master 16753 “Root Beer” — combining superb condition, full set provenance, and remarkable originality throughout.
