This Rolex Explorer II ref. 16550 from 1986 features the desirable early black tritium dial with pronounced “spider” cracking in the lacquer, giving the surface a unique and unmistakable vintage texture. The lume plots have aged to a dark yellow tone, and the hands are perfectly matching. The stainless steel case has just been professionally polished and remains in excellent condition, as does the fixed steel bezel. The watch is fitted with a 78360 Oyster bracelet with 501B endlinks, showing light stretch from use. The clasp is stamped VB. Serial and reference numbers between the lugs are crisp and well defined. The movement has just been serviced by our watchmaker and is running flawlessly. A collectible transitional Explorer II with strong vintage character and rare dial aging.
