A rare and attractive yellow gold “square” version of the Golden Ellipse, reference 3585J, in superb overall condition. The 36 mm case — considered oversized for the period (mid 70's) — shows extremely light, if any, signs of polishing and retains excellent proportions and sharp edges. The original blue linen-textured dial is beautifully preserved, with some small paint flaws typical for this reference. The original hands remain in good condition, though the central black paint has mostly faded. The crystal is perfect. The watch comes with documentation from Patek Philippe Japan dated 2025 for the purchase of a new yellow gold buckle and strap, along with a Patek service box. The movement was recently serviced by an independent watchmaker and is running well. A superb and wearable large-size Golden Ellipse, rare in this square-shaped configuration, offering excellent wrist presence and vintage charm.
