An exceptional and highly collectible late example of the iconic Daytona reference 6265, complete with box, outer box, booklets, calendar and guarantee holder. The stainless steel case remains unpolished and in very good overall condition, showing light marks and small dings consistent with age. The bezel is particularly well preserved, never polished, with sharp edges and deeply filled engravings. The original black “Big Red” dial is unrestored and in excellent condition, with all tritium lume plots intact and hands perfectly matching. The white subsidiary registers are remarkably clean, showing no visible scratches. The watch retains its original chimney crystal, correct for a late-series 6265. Fitted with the original 78350 Oyster bracelet with 571 endlinks. The clasp blade was replaced at some point, but the original blade is included in the set. Both the serial number (9323XXX) and reference number between the lugs are crisp and perfectly legible. The caseback is stamped 6263, as expected for this period, and shows no service engravings. Powered by the caliber 727 chronograph movement, in perfect working order and correctly bearing a COSC serial number. A superb and honest 6265 “Big Red” preserved in excellent overall condition, complete with a rare and desirable full set.
