This Rolex Daytona 6263 dates to 1971 (serial 2.653XXX) and features a beautiful MK1 silver tritium dial with perfectly matching hands. The dial is in excellent condition, with a clean sunburst finish; the lume plot at 3 o’clock is partially missing, while the others are intact. Under UV light, all lume plots glow brightly and fade rapidly and evenly, consistent with original tritium. The stainless steel case has been polished in the past and remains in honest shape, showing only light signs of wear. The black bezel insert is original and in excellent condition, showing uniform light wear. The watch retains its correct MK1 “millerighe” screw-down pushers. It is fitted with a 6251H Jubilee bracelet with 74 endlinks, showing only light stretch. The clasp is stamped 1.71. Serial and reference numbers between the lugs are sharp and well defined. The caseback is correctly stamped 6239, as commonly found on early 6263s from this period. The movement has just been checked by our watchmaker and is running perfectly. An attractive and early example of the 6263 with strong vintage appeal, original details, and collector-correct components.
