Presented here is a highly attractive vintage example of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 6241, dating to circa 1970 and bearing a serial number in the 2.372.xxx range. The case has been polished in the past yet remains notably thick and well defined, with strong proportions and crisp, clearly legible reference and serial numbers between the lugs. The screw-down caseback is correctly stamped 6241. Fitted with its correct MK1 black bakelite tachymeter bezel, the watch shows no major impacts, presenting in excellent condition for its age. The black “Blue Daytona” dial is particularly well preserved, featuring silver printing and clean white subsidiary registers. All tritium hour plots are fully intact, and the hands match perfectly, contributing to a cohesive and honest overall appearance. The dial displays only minimal age-related characteristics and remains remarkably fresh. Powering the watch is the Valjoux-based Rolex caliber 722-1, operating in excellent working order. The watch retains its original folded Oyster bracelet, reference 7835 with correct 271 end links, further reinforcing its authenticity and period correctness. Accompanied by Rolex Sweden service papers, this reference 6241 represents a compelling and well-balanced example of a highly collectible early Daytona, combining strong condition, originality, and correct components throughout.
