Rolex
Daytona 6239 Paul Newman Cream Color From 1968

REF: 6239

CHF 265'000 .-

A beautiful and honest example of the iconic Rolex Daytona reference 6239, featuring the highly coveted three-color “Paul Newman” cream dial. The stainless-steel case has been lightly polished in the past, yet remains thick, sharp, and well-proportioned, showing only light wear consistent with age. The original bezel is in excellent condition with all engravings still crisp and clearly visible. The cream Paul Newman dial is in magnificent condition, retaining a vivid tone with no major marks or scratches. All luminous plots are original and unrestored: the 9 o’clock plot is partially missing and the 1 o’clock plot is fully missing — completely typical for this reference and confirming the dial’s authenticity. The hands are perfectly matching, and both hands and plots react consistently under UV light, glowing and fading together. The serial and reference numbers between the lugs are crisp and well defined (serial 1875XXX), a strong sign of a lightly worn and well-preserved case. The caseback is correctly stamped 6239, and the Calibre 722-1 movement is clean and running beautifully. The watch comes fitted with a riveted 7205 Oyster bracelet with 71 endlinks, showing light and even stretch, appropriate for its age. The clasp is stamped 2.70. A very attractive, honest, and well-preserved example of the legendary Daytona Paul Newman — a trophy piece for any serious vintage Rolex collector.
