An exceptional example of the Rolex Day-Date 36 reference 18078, dating from 1981 and featuring the highly desirable combination of a rare Tiger Eye stone dial and bark-finish President bracelet. The case is excellent and thick and has just returned from an official Rolex service, where it was factory polished; the Rolex service stickers are still in place. The spectacular Tiger Eye dial is in excellent condition, with a beautiful natural pattern and, importantly, no cracks or damage to the stone. The hands are matching, while both the day and date discs are original. The bark-finish President bracelet is particularly impressive, showing extremely little, if any, stretch from use and remaining in superb condition. Originally sold by Brunati in Zurich in 1981, the watch retains its original box and papers and is accompanied by a 2025 Rolex service card. Serial 6441XXX. A superb, highly charismatic and beautifully preserved example of one of the most distinctive configurations of the vintage Day-Date.
