A classic Rolex Day-Date reference 1803/8 in 18k yellow gold, dating to 1970 (serial 2956XXX), presented on a brown crocodile leather strap. The case is in excellent condition, remaining sharp with well-defined edges, and the fluted bezel is equally well preserved, enhancing the overall presence of the watch. The champagne dial is in very good condition overall, with a light and honest vintage character. Some of the tritium plots show minor flaking, with the lume at 10 o’clock missing, which is not uncommon for a watch of this age. The hands are in excellent condition and fully matching, maintaining a cohesive look. The watch has benefited from a recent intervention at Rolex Geneva in 2026, including the replacement of the strap, 18k yellow gold buckle, and spring bars. The proper functioning of the movement was checked during this service. A clean and well-preserved example of the iconic Day-Date, combining sharp case proportions, a pleasing dial, and the timeless elegance of yellow gold.
