The present Rolex Datejust, measuring 36 mm in yellow gold and dating to 1991 (N serial), is a highly attractive and increasingly rare example featuring the distinctive bark finish decoration to the bezel. The watch appears to have never been polished and remarkably still retains its original Rolex Japan sticker on the caseback, an exceptional and seldom-seen detail that strongly supports the originality and preservation of the case. The watch is fitted with a vivid blue tritium dial, beautifully preserved and paired with matching tritium hands, creating a coherent and period-correct appearance. The contrast between the rich, vibrant blue dial and the warmth of the yellow-gold case is particularly striking, giving the watch a strong visual presence while remaining elegant and balanced. The bark-finish bezel adds texture and depth, a signature Rolex decorative technique of the period that further enhances the character of the piece. The watch is presented on a brand-new calf leather strap (non-Rolex), fitted with a gold-plated Rolex ardillon buckle. The movement has been serviced by our watchmaker and is functioning correctly at the time of cataloguing. Altogether, this is a compelling example of a yellow-gold Datejust from the early 1990s, combining an unpolished case, desirable bark-finish bezel, well-preserved tritium dial, and strong overall originality—an increasingly difficult combination to find.
