A very attractive example of the Rolex Datejust 36 reference 1601, dating from 1968 and featuring the timeless combination of stainless steel, an 18k yellow gold fluted bezel and a black tritium dial. The 36mm case retains the elegant proportions characteristic of the reference, complemented by its original-style acrylic crystal and Cyclops date magnifier. The black dial is particularly appealing, with applied gold hour markers and tritium luminous plots, accompanied by matching tritium hands that give the watch a warm and classic vintage appearance. Inside is the automatic Rolex calibre 1570, one of the manufacture’s most renowned and robust movements of the period. The watch is fitted with a leather strap and tang buckle and is accompanied by a Rolex box. Serial 1827XXX. A beautiful and understated vintage Datejust with a particularly elegant black and gold configuration, offering all the charm and character associated with late-1960s Rolex production.
