A superb vintage example of the Patek Philippe Calatrava 2551, featuring a desirable 36mm yellow-gold case and the iconic caliber 12'''600 automatic movement. According to the Extract from the Archives, the watch was produced in 1958 and sold in 1959. The case has been polished in the past but remains very well preserved, with a visible hallmark on the side of the 1 o’clock lug, demonstrating that the watch has retained strong metal and has only seen respectful refinishing. The dial and hands are in near-mint condition, remarkably well preserved for a watch of this age and showing no notable signs of ageing. The watch is fitted with a black Patek Philippe alligator strap in good condition, paired with its original yellow-gold Patek Philippe ardillon buckle. There is no recorded service history, but the watch is running well. An elegant and historically important early automatic Calatrava, combining beautiful proportions, originality, and exceptional aesthetic condition.
