The present MING Iris is a striking and technically engaging example of the brand’s contemporary watchmaking philosophy, combining avant-garde design with classical chronograph mechanics. Conceived as a refined yet expressive monopusher chronograph, the Iris showcases MING’s distinctive approach to form, material, and light. Housed in a 40 mm stainless-steel case measuring just 11.85 mm in thickness and 47.8 mm lug-to-lug, the watch offers elegant proportions and excellent wearability. The 316L steel case features MING’s signature three-step lugs and a carefully executed polished and brushed finish. Both the front and rear sapphire crystals are fitted with double-sided anti-reflective coating, while the top crystal is laser-cut with indices filled with MING Polar White, creating a subtle yet highly legible display. The case is water-resistant to 100 meters and fitted with a 20 mm lug width. The metallic deep-dish dial is finished with a multiphasic colour-shift coating, producing remarkable depth and dynamic visual effects as the light changes. Diamond-cut hands, coated in blue and filled with Super-LumiNova X1, ensure clarity and contrast, while the chronograph minute counter disc is executed in a sandwich construction, also luminous, reinforcing the technical and functional character of the watch. Powering the Iris is the manually wound Sellita for MING calibre SW562.M1, offering approximately 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The movement features an anthracite mainplate contrasted by a 4N-coloured three-quarter plate, visible through the sapphire caseback and finished to reflect MING’s contemporary aesthetic. The watch is delivered with both the stainless-steel Universal Bracelet and an anthracite goat leather strap, fitted with MING’s stainless-steel tuck buckle, offering versatility between a more technical or understated look. Combining a monopusher chronograph, refined manual-wind mechanics, and MING’s unmistakable design language, the Iris stands as a compelling expression of modern independent watchmaking—distinctive, thoughtfully engineered, and visually captivating.
